Anti-smoking advocates are cheering the passage of a statewide smoke-free bill out of a state House committee Thursday.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Lexington-Fayette County was the first local government in Kentucky to pass a smoke-free ordinance, and officials this week are marking the 10th anniversary of its passage.

The University of Kentucky's Kentucky Center for Smoke-free Policy sponsored a celebration Monday with speakers including Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, UK nursing professor and center director Ellen Hahn and local and state officials.
