100 Years of 4 H In KY

Lexington, KY – This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the 4-H program in Kentucky. And while 4-H's beginnings are in agriculture, today, young people can participate in clubs that explore everything from rocketry to communication skills. In fact, in 2008, more than 233-thousand young Kentuckians participated in 129 different 4-H programs, projects and camps. Frankfort Regional Medical Center Voted Best Place To Work

Frankfort, KY – Beating out five other major hospitals in the state, Frankfort Regional Medical Center is the Best Place To Work in Kentucky among companies with 250 employees or more. CEO Chip Peal says the hospital has gone from third, to second, to first in three years. "We really try to involve everybody in as many decisions as we can, get input from our staff, input from the leadership team, input from the physicians, just to make it a place where people want to work."

Court Rules Man Should Have Registered In KY As A Sex Offender

Frankfort, KY – In January 2001, convicted Tennessee sex offender Kenneth McBride moved to Mount Sterling, Kentucky, and found work. When local police discovered his past, he was indicted for not registering as a convicted sex offender.

He was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison. On appeal, his conviction was reversed because McBride had not been given notice of duty to register in Kentucky.
