Young Filmmakers Saluted For Creativity In Keep It Real Contest

This week while Hollywood was honoring the latest achievements on the big screen, some young film makers here in Central Kentucky were also accepting accolades.

“Drugs Destroy” is one of the many student-produced videos singled out for honors at this year's Keep It Real remix youth video contest. The production from Eastside Technical Center took top honors in the best direction category.

For more than a decade, The Keep It Real campaign has been educating students on the dangers of addictions, through a unique student-driven program.

Program coordinator Sharon Tankersley with Bluegrass Regional Prevention center helped coordinate this years’ contest.

Judges had to evaluate more than 88 videos from students around central Kentucky with winners announced in 10 separate categories.
