Williams Campaign Flush With Cash For Primary Stretch

By Associated Press

Frankfort, KY – Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams has received an additional $70,460 in campaign contributions since April 16, bringing his campaign total to nearly $1.3 million.

Williams filed a report Friday with the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance showing his most recent fundraising and spending actions.

That report shows Williams, who has been running television ads for several weeks, with about $200,000 on hand less than two weeks before the May 17 primary election. He spent more than $500,000 in roughly a two-week period ending May 2.

Williams faces Louisville businessman Phil Moffett and Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw in the GOP primary. Neither Moffett nor Holsclaw has raised enough money to run television ads.
