LEXINGTON, Ky. – Republicans are expected to take control of the U.S. House after this election cycle, changing the political landscape in Washington. And voters appear to be taking that into consideration as they head to the polls.

In Lexington Tuesday morning, Bob Burnley voted for Republican Senate nominee Rand Paul and for GOP challenger Andy Barr to represent the 6th Congressional District. Burnley hopes to see Republicans with the majority in at least one of the legislative chambers.

"I think it's good to have gridlock, I think it's good to have some balance there so nobody gets too out of control."

But voter Wesley Roney says the United States needs to face its problems.

"And I don't think it would be a good thing for this country to have to put up with two years of stagnation and continued partisan fighting. I don't look forward to that."

Roney, who declined to say which candidates got his vote, says he's a moderate who tends to lean to the left. He says politicians need to find their way back to the middle, instead of being polar opposites.
