Teenager Ready For Medical School

University of Kentucky

One student who is graduating from the University of Kentucky this year has his sights set on Medical School, and he’s just 18.

While countless 18 year olds will be primping for their senior prom tomorrow, Sivi Rajendran will be donning a cap and gown for his college graduation here at the University of Kentucky.  And not only did Rajendran graduate and get accepted to Medical School, he did it in just two years.  “It was not an easy two years.  I took a lot of credits each semester and did most of my medically oriented activities including research and volunteering at the hospital.  That’s one of the great things about being here at UK was that I got those opportunities that you can’t get without a hospital or a major medical center on campus”

Rajendran came from the Gatton Academy before entering UK.  The school, on the Western Kentucky University Campus is a two year high school program for advanced math and science students.  Rajendran said the classes are set up so that students can earn college credit which helped him get his degree at the University of Kentucky in record time.  As for the next chapter, this teenager hopes to become a neurologist.
