Stand-Off With Gunman And Police Ends Peacefully

A stand-off with a man who fired at Lexington police and barricaded himself inside his home for nearly 10-hours ended peacefully.

Around 12:30 this morning, police responded to a disturbance call on Deauville Drive which is in the Cardinal Valley area of Lexington.  Here’s what happened when they got to the home of 35-year old Ryan Kamark. “After identifying themselves as police officers, Mr. Kamark then fired one shot towards the officers and then fled back into the home the officers were not injured and they did not return fire”  Lexington Police Spokesperson Brenna Angel went on to say that that Kamark’s wife and one of his children were able to get out of the house early on during the stand-off, but police had to go in and get a second child out around 6:45 this morning.  Kamark remained barricaded inside.  “There were several hours of negotiations with Mr. Kamark and ultimately just before 10:00 this morning he surrendered and exited the home safely”

Angel said police are still investigating but initial charges have been filed. “There were four officers who did respond and were shot at so Mr. Kamark has been charged with four counts of wanton endangerment”

Several roads were shut down around the scene during the morning commute and residents who lived in the area had to stay put until the stand-off ended.  No one was injured.
