Frankfort, KY – Their names won't appear on the ballot, but so far, at least six people have qualified to be write-in candidates for president in Kentucky's November 4th election. Among them are conservative Alan Keyes of Maryland and Keith Judd, a federal prison inmate in Beaumont, Texas. At least three Kentuckians have qualified as write-ins, including Billy Mills of Morgantown, Shelley Upchurch of Ft. Thomas and Leonard Habermehl of Frankfort. "I know I probably don't have a real good shot at winning, but I wanted to be able to say that I did run for president one time."
Habermehl, who works for Toyota Manufacturing in Georgetown, says he considers himself a moderate. His running mate is an old Air Force buddy from Texas.
