Lexington, KY – Outgoing Fayette County Schools Superintendent Stu Silberman already has another job lined up. This afternoon the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence tabbed the retiring school chief to be its new executive director.
Silberman succeeds Robert F. Sexton, who died last August. Silberman announced last month that he would be officially stepping down from his post as superintendent on September first. He's expected to assume his duties at the Prichard Committee shortly thereafter.
The Prichard Committee is based in Lexington and is a private, non-profit advocacy group promoting academic excellence in public education in Kentucky.
