Frankfort, KY – There are four major issues on the agenda - budget alterations, economic incentives, a funding mechanism for major bridge projects and video slots at horse tracks. House budget committee chairman Rick Rand is looking for fairly quick action on each. Are there enough votes to get the video slots bill out of committee? "Yeah, I think there will be. I haven't done a hard count, but I believe there will be. How do you think it will fair on the floor?' You know, I think that it has a good shot at passing."
Rand says the committee will first take up the economic incentives and bridge projects measures. Then on Wednesday, the panel will consider the budget bill and the video slots measure. Legislative leaders are trying to keep the session as brief as possible.
