Security Tightened At Kentucky High School

Lex-18

A threat on social media led to increased security at Madison Central High School Monday. The alleged threat came from an Instagram account with the profile “molly._.23” and the name “MCHS School Shooter.”

The bio of the account states “Hi my name is anonymous. My plans are to bring a gun to MCHS and shoot anyone or anything that moves Monday thru Friday. The day will be unknown :).” One specific post said it was not a prank and anyone who comes to central office will be shot and if anyone tries to stop the shooter, they will die. It ends with “have a good day.”

School was in session with a police presence this morning and this facebook post went out to MCHS parents: “We want to make you aware that a threat was made on social media last night. While we believe this threat is just an attempt to disrupt the educational process, we want you to know that we are working with Richmond Police Department and Kentucky State Police to investigate the threat and find the person who put this on social media. Both agencies will provide a heavy presence on our campus until the situation is resolved.”
