Thousands of kids headed back to the classroom today in Central Kentucky.
School started in Fayette, Madison and Jessamine counties. 42,000 students are registered in Fayette County alone. Officials are asking that you use extra caution during your morning and afternoon commutes.
The National Safety Council recommends using extra caution when school is in session. More accidents are reported this time of year, especially those involving teenage drivers. Remember to leave home a few minutes earlier, always be hands free is you're using your cell phone and stop for all school buses.
