Frankfort, KY – During a National Governors Association meeting in Philadelphia, Governor Beshear invited President-elect Barack Obama to visit Kentucky. Beshear says Mr. Obama appears interested. "I particularly invited him to come around the celebration of the Lincoln Bicentennial. I said I thought that would be a wonderful time for him to come to Kentucky."
Mr. Obama met with the governors to discuss the effects the national financial crisis is having on the states. Governor Beshear says the president-elect assured the governors help is on the way in the form of a stimulus package, that could address infrastructure needs and growing demands on Medicaid and unemployment insurance.
