Lexington, Ky – Lexington Mayor Jim Newberry says the plan is for the 80 plus decorated horses to be painted and in place across the area, about this time next year. The formula will work the same as in 2000. Businesses will be asked to sponsor the statues, and artists will be invited to submit their decorating designs. To add a twist, four of the statues will be suitably festooned by Lexington's international sister cities County Kildare, Ireland, Deauville, France, Sinhidaka, Japan, and Newmarket, England. The figures will remain on display throughout the games, and will be auctioned off for charity later in the year.
