Lexington, KY – Smoking has been prohibited inside most area hospitals for more than a decade, but as of Thursday many Lexington health care facilities are voluntarily choosing to prohibit tobacco use ANYWHERE on their campuses. To encourage compliance with the tobacco-free policy, U-K HealthCare will provide appropriate medical care and support for patients who smoke. And the organization will also help employees to kick the habit by offering tobacco treatment programs at no-cost.
