Latest Poll Shows Voters Can Expect A Close Race For Governor

The latest Bluegrass Poll puts Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Jack Conway with a slight edge over Republican Matt Bevin in the upcoming election.

The poll, conducted for WKYT-TV and the Lexington Herald Leader and two media outlets in Louisville asked 1,000 Kentucky voters who they wanted to see in the Governor’s seat and Conway edges Bevin 45 to 42 percent.  According to SurveyUSA, the group that conducted the poll, 13 percent of likely voters remain undecided.

Here in Central Kentucky, Conway leads Bevin by 11 points.  In Jefferson County the lead is 30 but Conway’s numbers slip to three percentage points in eastern Kentucky.

Voters said shoring up the state’s pension system and managing the state budget and according to the poll, are split evenly over which candidate they think would do a better job.

The wild card in the election is whether Independent Drew Curtis who runs Fark.com meet the deadline to enter the race.
