Latest Makers Mark Limited Edition Bottles Designed

The Breeders Cup and Makers Mark are teaming up to raise money for several charities.

Wednesday morning some of the top names in the horse racing industry met at the Keeneland Library to announce that the bourbon company would be releasing five commemorative bottles that are expected to raise more than $1 million dollars.  Rob Samuels is the Chief Operating Officer of Maker’s Mark.  “We’ve all identified five horses who have distinguished themselves as the best of the best over the years of Breeders Cup Champions.  We’ve designed a unique commemorative bottle of Maker’s Mark for each horse and we’ll produce a very limited run of only 500 bottles for each one.  We’ll make three bottles available this year and then one bottle in each of the next two years.”  The five featured horses are AP Indy, Cigar, Lure, Personal Ensign and Zenyatta.

Three designs will be released this year and the final two in 2016 and 2017.  But you won’t be able to line up at an area liquor store to get one of these limited edition bottles.  In order to take one home, you have to make a $400 contribution, attend a ticketed event the week of Breeders Cup, then place one of the top 500 bids for each design.  For more info click here  http://www.breederscup.com/championsforcharity
