Kentucky Women Writers Conference, Sept. 12-13

The 36th annual Kentucky Women Writers Conference will be held on September 12 and September 13 at the Carnegie Center in Lexington.

The conference features workshops and craft talks in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. The faculty includes poets Tina Chang, Ellen Hagan, and Tracy K. Smith; fiction writers Sarah Combs, Rebecca Makkai, and Jill McCorkle; and creative nonfiction writers Asha Bandele, Joy Castro, and Leslie Jamison.

Tuition is $175 until August 1, and $200 thereafter. The cost for undergraduate students is $30. Registration is first come, first served. Call, e-mail, or visit the website for more information.

Josh James fell in love with college radio at Western Kentucky University's student station, New Rock 92 (now Revolution 91.7). After working as a DJ and program director, he knew he wanted to come home to Lexington and try his hand in public radio.
