Kentucky Teen May Face Adult Charge in Couple's Slaying

By Associated Press

EDMONTON, Ky. – Prosecutors plan to recommend that a 15-year-old Kentucky boy be tried as an adult in the slayings of a couple who took him to live with them when his mother said she could no longer control him.

State and county prosecutors have agreed to recommend that a judge certify the teen to be tried as an adult. That likely would bring harsher penalties for a conviction.

The boy is charged with murder in the deaths of his second cousin, Barbara Holloway and her husband, Gary. It is a juvenile charge.

The teen and a 12-year-old girlfriend were found after Kentucky State Police initially issued an Amber Alert for them. The girl has not been charged.

The Associated Press generally does not identify juveniles charged with crimes.
