Lexington, KY – Keeneland spokesman Jim Williams says despite having one less racing day, 240,755 people made it out to the track. That's down just over 1 percent from last spring's attendance total of 243,606.
Williams disputes the claim that Keeneland's all sources handle has been down consistently since the track installed Polytrack, a synthetic racing surface, in 2006.
All-sources wagering (including on-track and off-track handle and whole-card simulcasting conducted at Keeneland) totaled $121,124,351, down 19.5 percent from spring oh eight's $150 plus million.
