FEMA Center Opens in Lexington

By Brenna Angel

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- – A FEMA disaster recovery center opens Wednesday morning in Lexington.

Last week, Fayette County was added to the list of counties eligible for Individual Assistance stemming from the May 1st and 2nd storms. Residents who suffered damage can go to the center with help processing their FEMA claim and to get information on applying for a low interest loan through the Small Business Administration.

The DRC is located at Centenary United Methodist Church on Tates Creek Road. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Kentucky storm victims have until July 12 to register with FEMA. You can do so by calling 1-800-621-FEMA or going online to disasterassistance.gov.
