Family Foundation Worries Aloud About Logo Confusion

The head of Kentucky’s Family Foundation wants to make sure no one is confused by a Democratic SuperPAC logo.

Kent Ostrander, the executive director of the conservative Family Foundation, is drawing attention to the similarities between his organization’s logo and the logo of the Democratic group Kentucky Family Values.

Both graphics feature silhouettes of a family holding hands superimposed over an image of the state. Aside from the similar but different names, the logos do feature distinct colors.

Ostrander argues the comparable logos, along with efforts by the SuperPAC to describe the candidates they endorse as “conservative” and “family values” oriented, could lead some voters to believe the two organizations are one and the same. He stresses that the Family Foundation is a nonprofit public policy group that does not endorse candidates.

In response, KFV told cn|2 Pure Politics the organization has used the name and logo for the last four years and is backing candidates who are “fighting to support Kentucky families.”
