FRANKFORT, Ky. -- – Tuesday is the deadline to file to run in this year's elections in Kentucky.

State constitutional positions, such as the governor's, secretary of state's and attorney general's office are all on the ballot this year. There will not be any local races in most of the commonwealth, unless an office has been vacated and a special election is scheduled.

Secretary of State's spokesperson Les Fugate says the number of candidates getting on the ballot has leveled off from the 2010 election season.

"For the down-ticket races, we're really seeing about the same number. Right now, there doesn't seem to be any indication that excitement has carried over from the 2010 election cycle into 2011."

Fugate says the interest in last year's races was largely driven by frustration with the federal government. He says that anger has waned slightly, and there are no federal races up for election.
