Court Days Takes Over Mount Sterling

What started as way for Eastern Kentuckians to trade commerce in the 18th Century has turned into the oldest festival in the state.

For the next four days, an estimated 130-thousand people will head to Mount Sterling for Court Days.  Tracy Pearce, the tourism director for the city, says there’s something for everyone.  “We have about a thousand vendors set up in our beautiful small town and we have great food vendors, antique vendors, art vendors, Kentucky Proud products but then you’ll also find things like tools, socks, shirts, coats.  There is a little bit of anything and everything that you can imagine that you can buy sell and trade in Mount Sterling.  We call it the ultimate shopping event.”

The 215th annual October Court Days is already underway and continues through Monday from dawn until dusk in downtown Mount Sterling.
