Tuition at the University of Kentucky will go up in the 2015-16 academic year by three percent for in-state students and six percent for those attending from out-of-state.
Angie Martin, the Vice President of Financial Planning and Chief Budget Officer at UK said the numbers still put Kentucky in-line with costs at comparable universities and keeps the University competitive with out-of-state applicants.
In 2014, The Council on Postsecondary Education set an eight percent increase limit over a two-year period. UK and several other schools raised tuition by five percent last year, leaving the three percent cap for the incoming freshman class.
The upcoming tuition hike puts the cost of tuition at $10,780 per year. Along with tuition; fees, housing and dining costs will also increase at UK this fall by at least three percent each.
