Next week, the University of Kentucky's Martin Luther King Center will host a screening of Dear White People, a 2014 film that follows several African-American students and how they fit in at a mostly white university. For this week's UK Perspectives, Chase Cavanaugh sat down with the center's director, Kahlil Baker, to discuss the movie and how it touches on race.
UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the screening and discussion of Dear White People has been postponed. The Late Night Film Series says it will work out a new date as soon as possible.
The screening will take place on Tuesday, February 17th at 6:30 PM in UK's Memorial Hall. Following the screening, there will be a discussion with the movie's director, Justin Simien.
