Frankfort, KY – Kentucky State Police say a deck of "cold case" playing cards distributed seven months ago has produced several tips, but nothing to solve any of the crimes included in the pack.
Lt. David Jude told The State-Journal that 11 tips have come from the cards, including "some good information." Jude says investigators are still hoping for better results.
The cards were paid for with a $16,400 federal grant. They feature information and photographs of victims in 52 unsolved cases. Kentucky State Police and the Lexington and Louisville police departments partnered with the Justice Cabinet on the project to put about 7,900 decks of cards in prisons and jails
Jude says if funding is available in the future, state police hope to print another set of cards.
