Lexington, KY –
Former Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton returned to Kentucky Saturday to promote Bruce Lunsford's attempt to unseat 4-term Republican Senator Mitch McConnell. Mrs. Clinton spoke at rallies in Pikeville in Eastern Kentucky, and received a raucous reception by more than a thousand Democrats at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. She praised Kentucky voters for giving her one of the most decisive primary victories over eventual-nominee Barack Obama, and said they could do the nation an even bigger favor this fall by sending Barack Obama to the White House and Bruce Lunsford to the Senate to retire Mitch McConnell.
Clinton used her 12 minute speech to paint the Senate Minority leader as the ultimate Bush Administration enabler. Polls show Lunsford trailing McConnell by double digits.
