Frankfort, KY – Senate President David Williams says there's only one issue on Gov. Steve Beshear's mind - slot machines. And until he gets slots, Beshear won't stop at anything to take control of the General Assembly. "This governor, who said it didn't matter if it was a Republican idea, or a Democratic idea, has no idea of what he's doing up here, as far as the political atmosphere. He's poisoned it."
Williams says even if Beshear gets 20 Democratic votes in the Senate, he'll have to change some Democratic minds too, because "they're not for slot machines either." A spokesman for Beshear says the governor's record proves he's not just about slots, and has worked with Republicans in a bipartisan fashion over the last 19 months to move the state forward.
