Berea officials are expecting a packed house Tuesday, as the city council once again takes up the issue of a Fairness Ordinance.
It’s a debate that’s been simmering in Berea for more than three years.
Now the council is ready to hear from residents again at a fairness forum Tuesday night. The ordinance prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment, housing, and public accommodations is scheduled for a second reading Oct. 7.
More than 400 marchers demonstrated in favor of the law three years ago and the city is anticipating another capacity crowd Tuesday.
