Frankfort, KY – The state's lowest December jobless rate, 7.5 percent, was found in Fayette and Woodford counties, followed by Oldham, Hopkins, Madison, Warren and Franklin counties.
The highest rate, 18.8 percent, was recorded in Magoffin County, followed by Menifee, Jackson, Lewis, McCreary and Wolfe Counties.
Statewide, the December jobless rate was 10.3 percent, up slightly from November, but below the December 2009 rate. One-point-eight million Kentuckians were working last month, but 214,000 remained out of work.
Nationally, the December jobless rate was 9.4 percent.
