Beshear Blames Economy For Lack Of EEO Progress

Louisville, KY – Beshear spoke Thursday to attendees at the Governor's Equal Employment Opportunity Conference. He says his administration's goal is to have at least 52-percent of state employees be women, and 10-percent be a minority. But it hasn't met either of those goals and Beshear says the state's extremely tight budget isn't making it easier.

KY Health Officials At National Summit On Swine Flu

Lexington, KY – Headed by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, federal leaders will host a one-day H-1-N-1 Flu Preparedness Summit. According to Jay Blanton, spokesman for Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, the meeting will prepare local, state and national leaders for the possibility of a more severe outbreak of H1N1 influenza.

UK Doing Its Part To Help Drug Endangered Children in KY

In Monticello, Kentucky, a toddler died after ingesting toxic materials that his parents were using to manufacture methamphetamine.
