WEG Traffic Plan Announced

Lexington, KY – Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games CEO Jamie Link says motorists heading toward the Kentucky Horse Park literally won't be able to miss the signs.

"We will have more than 115 signs placed leading into the Kentucky Horse Park. Obviously, signage heavily on Interstates 64 and 75, the Bluegrass Parkway coming out of Versailles, Nicholasville Road, New Circle Road, then obviously Newtown Pike and Ironworks Pike leading into the Horse Park."

Todd Gets High Marks, Recommended Salary Bump Following Evaluation

Lexington, KY – Dr. Todd was given high marks in ten distinct institutional goals. Interim Board Chair Billy Joe Miles says even though the university will soon be looking for a new chief, there are no plans to amend the goals of the top twenty business plan.

Investigative Committee Finds No Evidence of Fraud

LEXINGTON, Ky. – No fraud found at Lexington City Hall. That's the determination made in a final report issued Wednesday by a special investigative committee.

The panel reviewed allegations of fraud made by the city's risk management director. Patrick Johnston had concerns about the city's 2007 purchase of insurance through the Kentucky League of Cities.

Lee Todd Retiring From UK

Lexington, KY – University of Kentucky President Lee T. Todd Junior has announced he will retire from his post effective June 30th 2011. In a forty-five minute press conference on Wednesday, Todd said ten years was a "nice round" number to signify the end his tenure as the university's 11th president. He said UK's Top 20 Business plan, that calls for the school to reach top twenty status as a research institution by 2020, will remain the goal as long as he is in charge.

State Government Asks Landlords for Lower Rent

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky state government is asking landlords for a drop in the rent it pays for office space. Governor Steve Beshear says his administration sent letters to property owners last week asking for a five percent reduction in rent to help offset the state's budget shortfall.

Beshear believes it's a reasonable request.

Coach Cal Spends Big to Promote WEG

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The biggest name in Kentucky sports is coming to the aid of the biggest sporting event in Kentucky. John Calipari has been named the charter member of the Commonwealth Club, a luxury ticket package now available for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

When Alltech President Dr. Pearse Lyons approached him about the idea, Coach Cal says he was happy to help.
