Putting a Face on Colon Cancer

Perry County Schools Superintendent John Paul Amis is featured in the new \"Faces of Colon Cancer\" exhibit.

Lexington, KY – According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention the state of Kentucky ranks second nationally for both colon cancer incidence and mortality. But experts say with an early diagnosis, colon cancer can be cured about 90% of the time. However, more than one-third of the Kentucky population has never had a colon cancer screening, a rate that doesn't compare favorably to other states.

Military Families Have Fun At Special Summer Camp

Lexington, KY – IT WAS A FUN-FILLED WEEKEND FOR MILITARY FAMILIES AT THE LIFE ADVENTURE CENTER IN WOODFORD COUNTY AS THEY PLAYED GAMES UNDERNEATH A LARGE PICNIC SHELTER IN THE SUMMER HEAT. THEY TRIED TO BEAT THE HEAT WITH A WATER FIGHT USING SUPER SOAKERS, BUCKETS AND EVEN THE GARDEN HOSE TO PROPERLY COOL EACH OTHER DOWN.
