Time Warner Cable

Consumers flipping through their TV service options in Lexington will now see a new choice on offer.

A ten-year franchise agreement between Lexington and Time Warner Cable was approved Thursday by the Urban County Council.

The Urban County Council tabled two resolutions Thursday that would deny transfer of local cable assets from Time Warner to Comcast and Charter Communications.

Lexington is in the process of negotiating a new franchise agreement with cable provider Time Warner.  However, concerns about customer service have led city government to potentially deny a transfer of assets to Comcast.

Time Warner Cable is defending its record ahead of an Urban County Council vote to halt the transfer of ownership of the cable provider.
