Washington Staying At UK, Gabriel And Vanderbilt Turn Pro

PJ Washington will return to Kentucky after withdrawing from the NBA draft, while teammates Wenyen Gabriel and Jarred Vanderbilt have decided to turn pro.

Monomoy Girl Edges Wonder Gadot For Kentucky Oaks Win

After five relatively easy victories, Monomoy Girl proved she could also handle challenges in the Kentucky Oaks. The filly proved that by first overcoming an outside post start before gutting out a close win to maintain her hot start. Monomoy Girl took charge near the far turn and outdueled Wonder Gadot down the stretch to win the $1 million Kentucky Oaks by a half-length on Friday at Churchill Downs.

Justify Installed The Early 3-1 Favorite For Kentucky Derby

Kentucky freshman forward Kevin Knox says he will enter the NBA draft and hire an agent. Knox's departure was somewhat expected after the 6-foot-9 Tampa, Florida , native averaged a team-high 15.6 points while leading the Wildcats to a fourth consecutive Southeastern Conference Tournament championship and the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

Facing archrival Louisville motivated the No. 16 Wildcats to go out and prove it.  Gilgeous-Alexander came off the bench to score a career-high 24 points, including 17 after halftime, PJ Washington added 16 and Kentucky used several runs to blow out rival Louisville 90-61 Friday in the annual showdown for Bluegrass supremacy.

Louisville Trustees Fire Athletic Director Tom Jurich

Louisville trustees have fired athletic director Tom Jurich in the wake of its involvement in a national federal investigation of college basketball.  The Board of Trustees voted 10-3 on Wednesday to fire Jurich after 20 years as the school's AD. Jurich, 61, had been placed on paid administrative leave Sept. 27 by interim university President Greg Postel. Louisville's Athletic Association fired men's basketball coach Rick Pitino on Monday.
