Louisville has announced a postseason ban for its men’s basketball team amid ongoing investigations into a sex scandal in which an escort alleged that a former staffer paid her and other dancers to strip and have sex with recruits and players.

MLB Hits King Pete Rose Denied Reinstatement

Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has rejected Pete Rose's plea for reinstatement, citing his continued gambling and evidence that he bet on games when he was playing for the Cincinnati Reds.  Manfred says in a letter sent to Rose and made public Monday that baseball's hits king hasn't been completely honest about his gambling on baseball games. Manfred also noted that Rose continues to bet on baseball games legally, even though his gambling got him into trouble.

No. 2 Kentucky Shuts Down No. 5 Duke For 74-63 Victory

Tyler Ulis had 18 points and six assists, and No. 2 Kentucky used its speed and athleticism to hold off No. 5 Duke for a 74-63 victory in the Champions Classic on Tuesday night.

Beholder Will Not Run In Breeders' Cup Classic

Two-time Eclipse Award champion Beholder, winner of the 2012 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies and 2013 Breeders’ Cup Distaff, has been declared from Saturday’s $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic after it was discovered she bled following her Thursday morning gallop. Beholder had been listed as the 3-1 second choice on the morning line behind favorite American Pharoah.


Andy Dalton threw three touchdown passes and the unbeaten Cincinnati Bengals won their sixth straight to match the team's best start to a season with a 34-21 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Towles Named Starter For Wildcats' Home Opener

Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops has officially named junior Patrick Towles as the starting quarterback when the Wildcats take on Louisiana Lafayette in the home opener next month.  Towles beat out freshman Drew Barker for the starting job.

Renovations To Commonwealth Stadium On Schedule

Kentucky senior associate athletic director Russ Pear remains confident that Commonwealth Stadium will be ready for the Wildcats' Sept. 5 season opener despite being "stressed about things" because of this month's heavy rains.

Kentucky's Big Blue Madness tipoff for its men's and women's teams is set for Oct. 16 at Rupp Arena.  Free tickets will be distributed on FRIDAY Oct. 2 at 10 p.m. to allow fans to attend the Wildcats' home football game against Eastern Kentucky the next day.  Campout and more ticket information for the highly popular workouts will be released later.
