Kentucky To Take On Ga. Tech Dec. 31 In TaxSlayer Bowl

Making its return to the postseason, Kentucky has accepted a bid to play in the prestigious TaxSlayer Bowl. The Wildcats will face Georgia Tech.  The game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida and broadcast on ESPN.  Originally known as the Gator Bowl, the TaxSlayer Bowl has been played continuously since the 1945 season, making it the sixth-oldest existing bowl game.

Austin MacGinnis' 47-yard field goal with 12 seconds remaining gave Kentucky a 41-38 upset of No. 11 Louisville on Saturday and helped the Wildcats win the Governor's Cup for the first time since 2010.

Nick Mingione Returns To Kentucky As New Baseball Coach

Kentucky has hired former Mississippi State assistant Nick Mingione to replace Gary Henderson as the Wildcats' baseball coach.  It's the first head coaching job for Mingione, who worked with the Bulldogs under John Cohen for the past eight seasons and was his assistant at Kentucky in 2006-07.
