McConnell: Cuba Ambassador Confirmation Unlikely

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says the Republican majority is unlikely to confirm an ambassador to Cuba.

While President Obama’s push to finalize the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement may be alienating many in his own party, he’s finding common ground with some Kentucky Republicans on the issue.

President Obama can expect a cooler reception during his State of the Union Address tonight than in previous years. The leader of the new majority Republican Senate is already busy dismissing the tax proposal the president is expected to pitch.
