Lexington Gearing Up For Another Med Toss This Month

LEXINGTON, Ky. – If you’ve got a medicine cabinet full of outdated or unwanted remedies, now would be a good time to clean it out because Lexington is having another Med Toss event later this month. 

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to come out, drop off some un-needed or un-wanted medications, a chance to protect the environment as well and keep the medications from entering our water stream," said Lieutenant Scott Blakely with Lexington Police.

Blakely added that citizens who participate could be helping to save a life.

Changes To Prescription Drug Law On The Way To Governor Beshear

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Much-called-for changes to the state's prescription drug law are on their way to the governor.

The Senate on Monday passed the final version of a bill that would loosen the law's restrictions to accommodate the seriously ill and elderly, groups that were subjected to the same scrutiny as would-be prescription drug traffickers. The vote was 36-0. The House passed the proposal last week.
