Murray State Eyeing Hemp Research

MURRAY, Ky. -- Officials with Murray State University are eyeing hemp research should the crop be made legal in a federal farm bill.

The dean of the university's agriculture school, Tony Brannon, said he'd be interested in research opportunities involving hemp and focusing on how effective the crop would be.

Attorney General: Murray State Board Of Regents Violated Open Meetings Law

Murray State President's Contract Not Renewed

MURRAY, Ky. -- The Murray State Board of Regents has voted not to extend the contract of President Randy Dunn and begin a search for a new president of the southwestern Kentucky school.

The 7-4 vote came Friday afternoon and will bring Dunn's tenure to an end June 30, 2014.

University spokeswoman Catherine Sivills says the board is pushing for a plan to find Dunn's replacement at its May meeting. Sivills did not say why the board voted to end Dunn's term, calling it a personnel matter.
