Medical marijuana could be on the docket during this year’s legislative session. House Speaker Greg Stumbo announced his intent to file a bill Tuesday that would permit the smoking of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

FRANKFORT, Ky. - A state lawmaker is preparing to unveil legislation that he will introduce in next year's
legislative session that would legalize marijuana for medical purposes.

Democratic Sen. Perry Clark  of Louisville scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. EDT Thursday to promote what he has dubbed the "Gatewood Galbraith Medical Marijuana Memorial Act'' in honor of the late
Lexington attorney who was the state's leading proponent of marijuana legalization.
