Lexington, KY – This week Lextran had to pull the plug on its new free ride program, Lextran Launch, due to some unruly passengers. The program was meant to give school-aged kids the chance to learn about bus safety and mass transportation, but
bad conduct by some means the end of the free rides for all. Lextran
spokesman Dave Riggins, says the bus company tried to make the program work.

Lexington, KY – New University of Kentucky Coach John Calipari says he's somewhat surprised, but very happy, that star forward Patrick Patterson has decided to return the Wildcats instead of entering the NBA Draft. Coach Cal says in the short time he's worked with the big man, he knows he can help Patterson raise his game even higher. Calipari talked about Patterson, and other returning players, plus UK's new recruits during a press conference Wednesday.

Lexington, KY – Lexington now has a building-by-building inventory covering some 34 blocks downtown. The Lexington Division of Historic Preservation has compiled a Downtown Lexington Building Inventory. About three hundred structures are described in some detail and ranked for historical significance.
