Record Numbers Of People Checking Out New Visitors Center

The new Lexington Visitors Center in Victorian Square features 1,500 of square feet of interactive displays and kiosks on local attractions, cuisine, and uniquely Kentucky topics.

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Sometimes a change of scenery is all a business needs to take off…case in point, the Lexington Visitors Center.   In May of 2012 the local tourism office moved its headquarters from Vine Street to a temporary spot inside the Victorian Square Shoppes, and then permanently set up shop there a few months later. 

LVC manager Julie Schickel says in the first six months of 2013, more than 10,000 visitors have checked out the new digs…that represents a 170% increase over the same period in 2012.
