Lexington Police Solve 13 of 14 Homicide Cases In 2012

Jan 14, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Lexington police solved 13 of 14 homicides in 2012 - fewer killings than other similarly-sized cities around the country.

Police Lt. Wallace Hays credited the clearance rate to detectives, who worked the cases and drew information from the public that proved key in making arrests.

Hays told the Lexington Herald-Leader the cases were fueled by robberies, drugs and domestic disputes that stemmed from jealousy and fits of rage.
