Toy Drive Off to Slow Start

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A holiday program serving families in need is experiencing a decline in support.  So far the Lexington Firefighter Toy Program is feeling the sting of an ailing economy.  Fraternal Order of Firefighters President, John Durr, says donations are coming in much slower this year.

Lexington Firefighters Kickoff Annual Holiday Toy Drive

Santa Claus, Mayor Jim Gray and Lexington Firefighters Announced Details of the 82nd Annual Community-Wide Toy Drive.

LEXINGTON, Ky. --  For the 82nd consecutive year Lexington’s Firefighters will be conducting a community-wide toy drive to brighten the holiday season for thousands of families.

Fraternal Order of Firefighters President John Durr says donations will be accepted beginning Monday.

“They can drop any new toy off at any fire station in Lexington.  They can also drop it off at our North Pole, which is 324 Henry, whenever we are there, especially during signups, we’ll be there to accept them."
