A federal judge has recused himself from hearing the case against an outgoing Kentucky lawmaker and a retired state mine inspector facing bribery charges.

Farmer Could Face Federal Charges Soon

FRANKFORT, Ky. -- A Kentucky basketball icon turned politician could be the subject of a federal grand jury meeting on Friday.

Frankfort defense attorney Guthrie True said he has been informed that the grand jury will look at former Agriculture Commmissioner Richie Farmer.

The Executive Branch Ethics Commission charged Farmer last month with 42 administrative ethics violations for allegedly misusing government funds and employees while in office.
