LEXINGTON, Ky. - Voters in Woodford county and parts of Fayette and Franklin counties head to the polls today to select a replacement for state Representative Carl Rollins, who stepped down to take a higher education post.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kentucky Republicans hope to narrow their deficit in the state House while Democrats aim to keep a seat they've held for years as voters in a central Kentucky district prepare to elect a new state representative.

The three candidates in the 56th District are spending their last full day of campaigning Monday ahead of Tuesday's special election.

Vying for the seat are Democrat James Kay, Republican Lyen Crews and independent John-Mark Hack.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky Republicans are registering their disapproval of a move by Fayette County Clerk Don Belvins which will add 114 mostly Democratic voters to the 56th state House district only weeks before a special election will be held there.

FRANKFORT, Ky. - Democrat James Kay is leading the way when it comes to fundraising in the 56th District state House race. Campaign representatives say Kay raised more than $88,000 in the first reporting period for the June 25th special election.
