When singer-songwriter Jason Isbell used to get drunk, he'd sometimes tell his then-girlfriend, the musician Amanda Shires, that he needed to quit the bottle — and that if it was going to take, he'd have to go to rehab. Eventually, she said the next time he told her that, she'd hold him to it. And she did. And he went. Today’s the day! Forecastle 2013 officially starts...

Saturday look back –

Saturday was a really fun day at the fest. There were such great headliners and incredible artists playing all over the festival.

It is absolutely one of the most beautiful days that Forecastle could have possibly started on, in my opinion. Although there were quite a few people in line at both entrances, at least it isn’t miserably hot…or raining.

Today’s the day! Forecastle 2013 officially starts, and we get to kick it off with a BBQ and Bourbon welcome in the media tent! After we get some pulled pork and Kentucky bourbon in our bellies, it’ll be time to start the interviews, the concerts, and the fun!
