Supplies are desperately needed in flood ravaged parts of Texas. One supply in particular has become critical…blood. The Kentucky Blood Center is one of dozens of centers across the country that is stepping in to help and that’s where you come in. “We’re encouraging anyone who is eligible to donate or if you’ve never tried to come out for the first time and donate blood. It will help Kentucky patients and Texas patients in this case.”
Martha Osborne with the Kentucky Blood Center says we need to keep our supplies strong here in the Bluegrass while helping out the hardest hit in Corpus Christi, Texas. “One of the blood centers has sustained significant impact from rising flood waters and these are larger blood centers in the country and they serve a huge population of people and so any kind of cutback to their collection operations, their recruitment of donors and their collection of donors and the testing of the blood is going to have a significant impact across the country.”
