WUKY's Anne Deck Will Perform For Local Fundraiser

Local celebrities and community leaders will try out their acting chops this weekend at The Lexington Children’s Theater.

LCT Artistic Director Larry Snipes says “Celebrity Curtain Call” has become the company’s most popular fundraiser of the year.  “It’s always a lot of fun because when you give people  two hours to rehearse and put them on stage, how can you not have a good time?”  Snipes laughed.  “And it’s gotten better and better and I think it’s a lot of fun because people get to see sort of what we do from the back side.  The people who are in the show get to see what we do behind the scenes to try and put all this stuff together.  And they also get an appreciation of what it’s like for those actors to pop out on stage and have to live someone else’s life so it’s a lot of fun.”

The event starts Saturday night at 7:00 with a cocktail hour and silent auction, followed by the celebrity performances on LCT’s main stage.

This year’s fundraiser feature’s WUKY’s own Anne Deck, the host of ‘Girl’s Night Out’.  Anne will be playing the Cheshire Cat in a scene from Alice in Wonderland.  Tickets to ‘Celebrity Curtain Call’ are $75 and can be purchased on-line at lctonstage.org.
