WUKY News Garners Six Associated Press Award Nominations

91.3 WUKY has received six nominations in multiple categories for the 2017 Kentucky Associated Press Broadcasters Awards.
 
WUKY Anchor/Reporter Karyn Czar was nominated for Best Radio Reporter and Best Short Light News Feature for her coverage of the University of Kentucky’s first Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. 
 
Equine Reporter Samantha Lederman is up for Best Sports Feature for “Meet the Horse and Rider Shaking Up Dressage.” 
 
WUKY Reporter Josh James has been nominated for Best Enterprise Reporting for “Reopening the Constitution: Panacea or Pandora’s Box?” 
 
The WUKY News Staff share a nomination for Best Continuing Coverage for “Lexington’s Confederate Statue Controversy” and for Best Short Newscast. 
 
“This is a testament to the hard work, and dedication of our talented news staff,” said WUKY News Director Alan Lytle.  “I’m especially gratified that our work continues to be honored by our broadcasting peers.”  “Under Alan Lytle’s direction, WUKY News has dominated the Kentucky AP Awards for well over a decade. 2018 is clearly no exception,” added WUKY General Manager Tom Godell. 
 
The winners will be announced at a ceremony Saturday April 14th at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.
